Branding proposal for Escential Lotions and Oils—a perfume boutique in Portland, OR that allows its clients to customize their own fragrances to flavor a multitude of products from shampoos to body lotions.

The Challenge: Create an updated identity for Escential that elevates the brand to attract new customers, and that works with the current system, allowing for cost-effective implementation.

The Solution: Combine both aspects of the brand—natural and earth-friendly with fashion-forward and elegant. The process of mixing and matching the oils for personalization is the inspiration behind the idea to brand Escential as "a science lab of scent."

Found vintage floral illustrations adorn the bottles and allude to the many ingredients and natural scents used in the essential oils. 
 
 

The branding utilizes found vintage florals with feminine and nostalgic typography.

 
 
 
 

The new packaging also makes it easy to activate the previously lack-luster shelving with a turn of the bottle. Additionally, the logo acts as a way-finding and labeling system for the whole store.
